The Central Bank of Djibouti ( Banque Centrale de Djibouti) issued a banknote in 2017 to mark 40 years of Independence from colonial rule under France. To mark this occasion it issued a unique 40 Francs denomination to stand proud, fourty years on its own.
The banknote is very unique and interesting; with a forty-franc note where the milestone is shown; a Whale shark cruises where the paper turns blue. Also shows the Gulf of Tadjoura's giant brought into view which is very unique to Djibouti and World's most reliable places to see them gather. This tiny African nation of Djibouti lies at one of the lowest point on earth.
