The Central Bank of Solomon Islands Issued a new $ 1 coin during the year 2025. The coin has his majesty King Charles III on it with the reverse side featuring the iconic Nguzu Nguzu motif on the reverse a traditional symbol of protection and good fortune. While the obverse features the new effigy of King Charles III, designed by Daniel Thorne (DT), making this the first Solomon Islands coin to honor His Majesty’s reign. The coin is a good reminder of Solomon Island's strong ties of history, culture, tradition and economic ties with the Commonwealth of nations.
